Rachel Richards
I'm Rachel Richards, a licensed professional therapist (WA state LH61242965) and the founder of Four Winds Therapy. My commitment to therapy is rooted in a deep appreciation for human beings and the natural healing potential found within each person. With nearly 30 years of experience in mental health, I've supported clients of all ages and backgrounds, guiding them in their journeys to become their best selves. It’s an honor to work with each and every client. My background spans systems work, depth psychology, and cultural analysis, alongside a dedication to authenticity, honesty, and compassion. This combination helps me meet diverse client needs with both flexibility and expertise. Having spent decades in children’s mental health and as an advocate for racial justice, I'm passionate about reducing stigma and suffering. I integrate evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and ACT with a humanistic and existential approach that respects each client's individuality, culture, and nature. Originally from the South, I’ve called the Pacific Northwest home for 25 years, where I find peace in nature. With a Master’s in Counseling Psychology, Doctoral work in Education, as well as training in the dharma, I help clients engage in mindfulness and present centered awareness. My experiences with plant medicine also enable me to offer psychedelic integration counseling, and soon, our practice will host healing retreats. Let's explore how I can best support you on your journey.
