Child and Family Therapy

Service Description

We are all existing within systems. Children live within a family system. The Family system impacts a child’s functioning so we try to include family in therapy to support the child and make positive changes in both the individual child and the family system as a whole. Because our approach includes parental (and sometimes siblings and extended family) involvement we may make additional sessions available for work with parents or guardians/ caregivers which may or may not involve the child. We advocate for children’s needs and make recommendations to caregivers based on clinical expertise and insight. We can be available to clinically assess a youth’s needs and communicate about those needs to others in the child’s life like teachers/coaches/doctors/courts if needed. Years of experience in schools and children’s mental health allows us to provide a variety of supports to children and families.
